Meet Annie Anderson

Owner, Guide and Believer in New Beginnings

For much of her life, Annie Anderson has walked between two worlds: science and spirituality, crisis and healing, responsibility and possibility.

Her career began in massage therapy and Reiki before an unexpected change in direction led her into emergency medicine. For more than two decades, Annie worked as an Advanced Care Paramedic, caring for people during some of the most frightening and vulnerable moments of their lives. That work taught her how quickly life can change, but also how remarkably resilient people can be.

Annie Anderson, owner of Hotel Mango Valley

Her own path has included serious health challenges, lifesaving surgery, PTSD and seasons when the way forward was anything but clear. Annie understands what it feels like to keep functioning while quietly carrying more than anyone else can see. She also knows that transformation rarely begins when everything is perfect. Sometimes it begins when we are tired, uncertain and finally willing to make one different decision.

For Annie, one of those decisions was coming to Costa Rica.

Since spending more time here, she has experienced significant improvements in her own health and well-being. She attributes much of that change to living in greater alignment; not only physically, but mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Surrounded by mountains, birdsong, fresh air and the steady rhythms of nature, she found space to listen to herself again.

That experience changed the direction of her life and deepened her belief that healing is not always about “fixing” ourselves. Sometimes it begins by stepping away from the noise long enough to notice what our body, heart and inner wisdom have been trying to tell us.

Today, Annie brings that understanding to Hotel Mango Valley.

She sees the hotel as more than a beautiful place to stay. It is a peaceful place to pause, breathe and reconnect with nature, with the people you love and perhaps with a part of yourself that has been difficult to hear.

You do not need to arrive with a spiritual practice, a perfectly defined goal or even the words to explain what you are going through. You may come for a quiet vacation, an adventure in Costa Rica, a romantic escape or simply a few days of genuine rest. You may also arrive as part of a retreat, carrying a question about your health, relationships, purpose or next chapter.

Whatever brings you here, Mango Valley offers something increasingly rare: room to be still without pressure to become anything.

Annie’s extensive background includes a Bachelor of Health Science in Paramedicine, a Bachelor of Holistic Health Science and advanced training in Reiki, Emotional Freedom Techniques, HeartMath, positive psychology, BioResonance, Core Shamanic practices and end-of-life support. She is also completing graduate studies in counselling psychology and natural medicine. Her approach brings together practical knowledge, compassion, spiritual curiosity and deep respect for each person’s right to choose their own path.

She does not believe that anyone else can dictate your healing or decide the direction of your life for you. Instead, she believes the right environment can help you hear your own answers more clearly.

Sometimes clarity arrives as a life-changing realization. Sometimes it is simply the recognition that you are tired and need to rest. Both matter.

Annie believes miracles can happen, but they do not always appear as dramatic, impossible events. A miracle may be a body beginning to feel safer, a mind becoming quieter, a long-held burden becoming lighter or a direction suddenly becoming clear. It may begin with a single breath, a moment in nature or one courageous decision to do something differently.

Mango Valley grew from one of those decisions.

Annie’s hope is that, whether you stay for one night or join us for a transformational retreat, your time here gives you what it gave her: space to reconnect, permission to listen and the possibility of discovering that your story can still change.

You do not have to know exactly where you are going.

Sometimes you only need a peaceful place to begin.
